Dr. Jorge Helo, M.D.

A native of Bogotá Columbia, Dr. Helo received his medical degree with Honors from the National University of Columbia in 1965. He obtained his ECFMG certificate and attended Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC where he completed a 1 year rotating Internship as well as a 1 year in General Surgery and a 3 year Residency in Otolaryngology. He then went on to complete the FLEX examination and obtained his license to practice in Washington, DC and in the State of Virginia.

Dr. Helo then returned to Columbia where he had his private practice in Otolaryngology and was the Director of the Department of Hearing and Speech of the Universidad Del Rosario de Columbia, School of Rehabilitation. Dr. Helo then traveled back to the United States where he opened his private practice in Miami Beach in 2000. In 2002 he joined South Florida ENT Associates, P.A.

Dr. Helo holds professional memberships with following associations:

  • Colombian Society of Otolaryngology
  • Colombian Society of Rhinology
  • American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery

Dr. Helo has hospital privileges at:

  • Mount Sinai Medical Center
  • Miami Heart Institute
