
Rachel L. Lebon, Ph.D.
Rachel L. Lebon received a Ph.D. from the University of Miami and is a Professor of Music (Jazz Voice) at the University of Miami. She is the voice teacher for the Professional Voice Institute.
Dr. Lebon is a member of the Professional Voice Institute, an inter-disciplinary team devoted to the treatment of Vocal Disorders. The team has presented educational clinics for various organizations, including the Florida Speech and Hearing Association (FLASHA), National Association of Recording Arts and Sciences (NARAS), and International Association of Logopedics and Phoniatrics (IALP) in Amsterdam.
Dr. Lebon is the author of two books: The Professional Vocalist: A Handbook for Commercial Singers and Teachers (Scarecrow Press, 1999) and The Versatile Vocalist: Singing Authentically in Contrasting Styles and Idioms, (Scarecrow Press) published in 2006. Her journal articles have been published in the Journal of the National Association of Teachers of Singing.
Dr. Lebon has performed adjudications and presented papers, workshops, and clinics worldwide for such organizations as the National Association of Schools of Music (NASM), The Voice Foundation Symposium on Care of the Professional Voice, the National Association for Advancement in the Arts (NFAA) , the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS), the International Association for Jazz Education (IAJE), as well as the Conservatorium von Amsterdam, and Maastricht and Hilversum Conservatories.
